Jill Heil

Jill Heil is a current English Language Development teacher at Summit High School in Frisco, CO. She has spent most of her career working to help diverse learners acculturate and acquire language in their new country. After spending a short time teaching language arts, Jill transitioned to teaching English to adult learners and high school students.

As outstanding adjunct faculty of the year at Colorado Mountain College in 2003 and professional learning group leader, Jill has continued to address equity, cultural awareness and academic needs of new immigrants. Her school received the English Language Proficiency Act (ELPA) award several years in a row for excellence in language growth and academic achievements.

Jill holds a BA in English Secondary Education from the University of Northern Colorado and and MA in teaching Culturally and Linguistically Diverse students from Adams State College.
