Movement Strategies to Increase Student Engagement

About the Course
Study after study shows that physical activity activates the brain, improves cognitive function, and is correlated with improved academic performance. This class explores how to tap into the potential of movement in the classroom. Over the course of five weeks, we will learn to easily redesign worksheets to incorporate movement, explore the benefits and drawbacks of classroom simulations, give resources for brain breaks, and more!
This course is appropriate for primary and secondary teachers. Teachers, librarians, instructional coaches, and administrators are invited to join us as well!
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify lessons that could benefit from added movement.
- Implement engaging lessons in the classroom immediately.
- Improve student attention through strategic brain breaks.
