Strategies to Facilitate Remote Learning
About the Course
Research has shown that using basic behavioral training systems to teach content skills demonstrates competency within the classroom or within the use of video instruction. Teachers will actively participate and understand the 5 basic components of Behavioral Skills Training. Special attention will be given to successfully creating and facilitating remote and Hybrid learning for their students. Teachers will read and learn about evidence based practices for learning and practice the 5 steps while reflecting on their learning weekly and ending with a culminating assignment where they will be creating a lesson applying the components.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Define the skill to be learned in concrete terms as well as the learning objective of the specific lesson and why the students need to learn the skill or material.
- Create effective visual instructions, deliver verbal instructions, and model the desired outcome.
- Allow students to practice with guided supports.
- Give effective feedback.
- Assess students learning and repeat steps if individual goal is not met.
