About the Course

Educators will actively participate in online learning to further develop their understanding and experience in cultivating a strong classroom community. Participants will additionally build their “toolbox” of engaging classroom community resources and activities. This course is appropriate for educators of any grade/content level as well as instructional coaches, interventionists, special service providers and administrators. We will read the text Reaching All by Creating TRIBES Learning Communities and study what it means to create welcoming classrooms where all students thrive.

Required Text:

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Implement a wide range of rich, engaging, classroom community building resources and activities that are designed to represent all learners. 
  • Analyze and identify various learning tribes and the importance of tribes in the classroom. 
  • Develop a strong classroom community and culture using the resources learned from the course.
