The Scaffold Effect in Education
About the Course
Teachers will actively participate in online learning to further develop their understanding of the scaffold effect that is necessary to build strong relationships with children and teens as well as resilient young adults. This course will provide instructional strategies and curriculum guidance to help grow confidence in children and combat the “Age of Anxiety” we are seeing in our schools today. The course will help participants to utilize clinically proven practices to assist our youth in building a strong foundation for mental health and healthy coping strategies.
This course is appropriate for both primary and secondary teachers, administrators, librarians, counselors, mental health professionals, instructional coaches, as well as any person who interacts with children, teens, parents and guardians.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify the characteristics of the scaffold effect.
- Analyze the differences between bribery and external reinforcement.
- Analyze negative tracking and confirmation bias.
- Develop a strategic plan to implement the scaffold while working with children or parents/guardians.
