Teaching the Explosive Child
About the Course
Instead of focusing on getting our more challenging students to comply with adult directives, we can work towards improving flexibility and frustration tolerance so these same students can start learning lifelong skills! By exploring The Explosive Child by Dr. Ross Greene (via the book, a specific podcast episode and through exploration of www.livesinthebalance.org), we will attempt to switch our age old thinking that children choose poor behavior. Instead we will look at Greene’s idea that children do well when they can. While the original concept is geared toward parents, this paradigm shift is applicable and crucial for all educators and school personnel. Explore a learning environment that is truly led with empathy.
