About the Course

In this course, educators will learn how to create captivating and immersive escape room-like activities for students. Through a blend of theory and practical application, participants will explore the principles of game-based learning, puzzle design, and narrative development to craft educational escape room experiences tailored to their curriculum and student needs. From brainstorming themes to designing clues and puzzles, educators will acquire the skills and strategies necessary to engage students in collaborative problem-solving, critical thinking, and content mastery. Join us as we unlock the potential of escape room-inspired learning adventures in the classroom!

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Design intricate puzzles and challenges tailored to specific learning objectives, employing critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills in the process.
  • Integrate technology effectively into escape room activities, utilizing tools such as QR codes, augmented reality, or digital locks to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of escape room activities in achieving educational goals by analyzing student performance, engagement levels, and feedback, and make informed adjustments for future implementations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to brainstorm, plan, and execute interdisciplinary escape room experiences that address diverse learning styles and abilities, fostering a cooperative and inclusive learning environment.
