About the Course

In this course, teachers will begin planning and implementing the Building Thinking Classroom (BTC) model, focusing on all four toolkits to support its implementation. Participants will revisit the 14 teaching practices outlined by Peter Liljedahl, equipping themselves with practical strategies for fostering critical thinking in mathematics and creating plans and reflecting on implementing the toolkits in their own classroom. By the course's end, educators will have developed a comprehensive set of resources aligned with BTC principles, ready to create dynamic and engaging classroom environments that nurture students' mathematical thinking skills. The Building Thinking Classrooms Book Study is also available through COpilot but not required to take prior to this course.

This course is appropriate for all K-12 math teachers. Other content areas are welcome to join, but a majority of the resources are math related.
