About the Course

Discover the transformative potential of creative confidence in this 8-week course designed to unleash your innate creativity. Grounded in the principles outlined in “Creative Confidence” by Tom Kelley and David Kelley, this course explores how fostering creative confidence can enhance both personal and professional development.

Throughout the course, you will delve into foundational concepts such as overcoming fear of failure, cultivating empathy, applying design thinking, and fostering collaborative creativity. Each week, you will engage with readings, videos, and hands-on assignments that encourage practical application and reflection.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Articulate the concept of creative confidence and its significance in personal and professional growth.
  • Analyze the role of fear and failure in stifling creativity and apply strategies to overcome these barriers.
  • Demonstrate empathy as a foundational skill in understanding user needs and generating innovative solutions.
  • Create and iterate on prototypes to develop solutions to real-world challenges, integrating feedback to improve their designs.
  • Cultivate habits and mindsets that nurture creativity, applying mindfulness exercises, creativity prompts, or divergent thinking activities.
  • Apply design thinking principles to identify and solve complex problems, demonstrating an understanding of the iterative design process.
  • Collaborate effectively in teams to brainstorm ideas, share perspectives, and develop innovative solutions to given challenges.
  • Reflect on their journey in developing creative confidence and create a personal action plan for applying these principles in their future endeavors.
