Exploring Alternative Story Forms
About the Course
This course is designed for educators who wish to enhance their teaching strategies by incorporating alternative story forms (digital storytelling) into their curriculum. Participants will explore various non-traditional narrative techniques, including multimedia storytelling - such as infographics, photo essays, and story maps - as well as podcasts, lists, recaps, and interactive writing.
By incorporating alternative story forms (ASF) into your classroom, you can help students improve creativity, foster student agency, and develop digital fluency. Students will also be able to connect with authentic audiences for their writing. Finally, we will discuss thoughtful ways to incorporate AI.
This course is appropriate for k-12 teachers. Teacher librarians, instructional coaches, and administrators will also find value in this course.
