About the Course

Teachers will learn to create inclusive and engaging math lessons using the Desmos/Amplify Activity Builder. 

This course is appropriate for math teachers, SPED teachers, and elementary teachers looking to create engaging math lessons that are inclusive to all learners, including ELL, SPED, and GT and learners with behavioral health needs.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Run and modify a pre-made Desmos Activity Builder math lesson.
  • Create their own Desmos Activity Builder math lesson and learn how to use the basic functions of the computation layer to further personalize their own lessons.
  • Modify lessons on the Desmos Activity Builder to support ELL students.
  • Modify lessons on the Desmos Activity Builder to support students with SPED, GT and/or behavioral health needs.
  • Operate and reflect over how the Desmos Activity Builder graphing calculators and other tools can be used as a tool for inclusivity in their classroom. 
  • Create a final lesson on the Desmos Activity Builder that is inclusive of special populations while also meeting the needs of the mainstream classroom.
