About the Course

Teachers, special service providers, and/or school professionals will gain a deeper understanding how we can better support our most vulnerable students by watching a variety of documentaries. Throughout the course, learners will watch three documentaries (The Program, Tell Them You Love Me, and Lessons From a School Shooting) on Netflix.

These documentaries contain stories and statistics about violence; please take care of yourself throughout this course.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Identify what the core issue/lesson of each documentary focuses on
  • Define the practices you do or what you can improve on to prevent the issues in each documentary
  • Analyze the impact on the identified victims
  • Develop a self-care routine
