Cultivating Teacher Wellness Through Art

Teaching can be incredibly rewarding, but it also comes with stress and emotional demands. Cultivating Teacher Wellness Through Art is a eight-week course designed to help educators use art as a tool for self-care, mindfulness, and stress relief. Participants will explore a variety of artistic practices, including visual journaling, movement, music, and mindful observation, to enhance their well-being. No prior art experience is necessary! By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Explain how creative expression supports emotional regulation, reduces stress, and enhances mindfulness.
- Identify personal creative practices that contribute to self-care and mental wellness.
- Explore and implement various art-based self-care techniques, such as visual journaling, movement-based creativity, and nature-inspired art.
- Establish a sustainable creative practice that fosters well-being beyond the course.

I absolutely love this class! Cultivating Teacher Wellness Through Art has been such a gift during a time when teaching feels more emotionally demanding than ever. The course is thoughtfully designed and offers a wide variety of creative practices—from visual journaling and movement to music and mindful observation—that have helped me reconnect with myself and manage stress in a meaningful way.
What I appreciate most is that there's zero pressure to be “good” at art—just an open invitation to explore and reflect. Each week has felt like a breath of fresh air, and I always leave feeling calmer, more grounded, and recharged.
I also really value that by the end of the course, I now have a personalized creative wellness plan I can return to throughout the school year. I truly can’t recommend this class enough for any educator looking to prioritize their well-being in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Hands down the best course I have participated in with Copilot! The course itself was beautifully designed and easy to access on any device. The awesome instructor, Lindsay, provided inspiration, connection, and meaninful feedback each week to inspire me to be creative, have fun, and feel the flow. The other members of the class added to the value of the course, making it a fun, interactive experience. We all enjoyed the class gallery where we got to share our work each week, see what others were inspired to create, and make some great connections in a low-stress space. I really enjoyed taking this course over summer break when I had some time to enjoy it. The materials can apply to personal wellness and/or classroom wellness, and allowed us to work from our own comfort and creative levels. Highly recommend everyone, not just art teachers, take this class and explore your creative side!
