Summer Planning PD
About the Course
This 8-week professional development course is designed to help educators prepare for their upcoming school year through intentional planning, reflection, and collaboration. Participants will engage in weekly activities, discussions, and practical tasks, setting and pursuing SMART goals for individual projects and design and reflect on incorporating the ELPD standards in their resources to support diverse learners in the classroom. This course will emphasize sharing ideas and tools to enhance teaching practices and build a supportive professional community all while preparing educators for their upcoming school year. This course is appropriate for all educators in a K-12 role.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Establish specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals for their weekly projects and continuously assess their progress throughout the course.
- Design weekly projects that align with their professional passions and goals, integrating innovative practices into their teaching and preparation for the upcoming school year.
- Implement projects into lesson and unit plans for the 25-26 school year.
- Participate in weekly discussions and reflections related to best teaching and planning practices and overall professional development.
- Complete a reflection journal of their work and next steps for beginning the school year.
