About the Course

In this online course, students will participate in research and activities to gain an understanding on how to apply cross-curricular strategies, such as primary sources, while developing theme studies with picture books. Students will understand how to choose books and themes while being aware of diverse needs and perspectives.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Analyze individuals/stories represented within either the CKLA or Wit and Wisdom curriculum.
  • Identify necessary resources to locate diverse books.
  • Explain how to implement primary sources within picture book studies to enhance comprehension.
  • Create resources for grade level research.
