About the Course

Teachers, special service providers, and/or school professionals will gain a deeper understanding of how to better support our most vulnerable students by listening to a variety of podcasts. Throughout the eight weeks, learners will listen to many podcast episodes, based on different themes, from a variety of creators and reflect on the content. You will have one week to listen to a podcast episode of your choice and share it with your peers. There will also be one week to catch up on any content. This course focuses on childhood mental health, trauma, and supporting these students in the classroom!

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Identify the core issue/lesson of each podcast episode
  • Explain best practices presented by each podcast episode
  • Develop lesson plans that incorporate best practices as a means to support child development in schools
  • Analyze how the various strategies posited by each episode impact
