About the Course
Teachers will actively participate in online learning to further develop their understanding of how to support English Language Learners in the K-8 classroom.
We will use this course as a book study for the textbook Equitable Instruction for English Learners in the Content Areas by Valentina Gonzalez. Participants will be asked to take notes on each section of reading, answer discussion prompts, make journal entries and also use outside websites as practical resources for your classrooms.
This course is appropriate for primary and middle school teachers in any content area who are seeking to improve their best practices for working with English language learners in the general education setting.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

- Implement best practices and specific strategies for improving student comprehension, analysis, and knowledge utilization.
- Use outside resources to improve your knowledge of specific strategies for accommodations and modifications and how to implement them in your future instruction.
