About the Course
Educators will be empowered to understand and address the persistent disparities in access to gifted education programs across different demographic groups, including socioeconomic, cultural and linguistic. Educators will critically examine current identification and referral practices to uncover potential biases and barriers, and learn how to advocate for equitable policies within their schools and districts. Through practical strategies and differentiated approaches, educators will be equipped to create inclusive classrooms and schools that recognize and nurture diverse talents, fostering an environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.
This course is appropriate for all teachers, administrators, and support staff.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify the key factors contributing to disparities in gifted education, including socioeconomic, cultural, and linguistic differences.
