Notice & Note: Strategies for Close Reading
About the Course
This six-week professional learning course is designed for K-12 educators who want to strengthen students’ reading comprehension and engagement through the use of Notice & Note: Strategies for Close Reading by Kylene Beers and Robert Probst. Participants will explore the six “signposts” of close reading and learn how to help students notice key moments in text that deepen understanding. Each week, teachers will apply a strategy directly in their own classrooms, reflect on student responses, and share insights with peers. By the end of the course, participants will have developed a collection of ready-to-use reading lessons and classroom routines that foster deeper reading and critical thinking across grade levels and content areas.
