About the Course

This course provides educators with an opportunity to develop and/or strengthen their foundational understanding of Google Classroom, Google Forms, and Google Sites. Through online learning, participants will build practical skills to create, organize, distribute, and manage digital learning experiences while enhancing communication and collaboration with students, families, and colleagues.

Educators will learn to effectively use Google Classroom to create, distribute, and assess assignments and formative assessments, as well as integrate curriculum resources and tools such as the “Share to Classroom” Chrome extension. Participants will also explore how to design and implement Google Forms for formative assessment, surveys, and data collection, with an emphasis on seamless integration within Google Classroom.

In addition, educators will develop skills to plan, design, and maintain Google Sites as a centralized platform for sharing classroom information and resources. Emphasis will be placed on creating engaging, organized, and accessible digital spaces to support communication and learning.

This course is designed for educators who are new to these tools or looking to build a stronger foundational skill set.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Develop and manage a Google Classroom environment, including creating classes, configuring settings, posting announcements, organizing Classwork, and integrating Google Calendar to support instruction and communication.
  • Apply assessment and collaboration practices within Google Classroom, including creating assignments and quizzes, providing feedback, managing grades, and integrating external resources using tools such as the “Share to Classroom” extension.
  • Design and implement Google Forms for instructional purposes, including surveys, formative assessments, and checks for understanding, with appropriate settings and distribution methods.
  • Analyze and utilize data from Google Forms, including grading quizzes, interpreting responses, and sharing resources to support instructional decision-making and collaboration.
  • Plan, design, and develop a Google Site with a clear instructional purpose, including organizing content into pages and subpages and configuring site settings for effective sharing.
  • Apply design and communication principles within Google Sites by integrating multimedia elements, embedded content, and organizational features to enhance accessibility and user engagement.
