About the Course

This course provides educators with an opportunity to develop and/or strengthen their foundational understanding of Google Workspace tools, including Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Sheets. Through online learning, participants will build practical skills to create, organize, distribute, and collaborate with colleagues and students across these platforms.

Educators will learn to effectively use essential features of each tool for both professional productivity and classroom instruction. Emphasis will be placed on creating dynamic documents, designing engaging and customized presentations beyond standard templates, and utilizing spreadsheets for organization and data-driven tasks. Participants will also explore how these tools can be implemented within Google Classroom as part of a workshop model to support student learning, collaboration, and engagement.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Develop and format Google Docs for instructional and professional use, including the integration of text features, styles, tables of contents, and embedded media.
  • Apply collaboration and feedback tools within Google Docs, including sharing settings, commenting, and integration with Google Classroom to support a workshop model.
  • Create and organize Google Sheets using templates and custom structures, applying formatting, multiple sheets, and essential data management techniques.
  • Utilize Google Sheets functions and tools, including formulas, sorting, filtering, charts, and pivot tables, while implementing collaboration and sharing features.
  • Design and customize Google Slides presentations using templates and master slides, incorporating multimedia elements, formatting, and presentation features.
  • Apply advanced presentation and collaboration tools in Google Slides, including animations, transitions, sharing, commenting, task assignment, and delivery.
