About the Course

Transform your classroom management and financial literacy instruction. In this 4-week course, educators will critically analyze three leading, free online classroom economy programs: ClassBank, Banzai!, and My Classroom Economy. Moving from theory to practice, participants will evaluate the pros and cons of each platform, draft a comprehensive rollout blueprint, and build a fully functional digital economy complete with a customized student/family launch video.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Critique and Compare Digital Platforms:  Evaluate the pedagogical frameworks, features, and limitations of leading free online classroom economy platforms (ClassBank, Banzai!, and My Classroom Economy) to determine their alignment with specific classroom management and financial literacy goals.
  • Design Equitable Economic Systems:  Formulate a comprehensive, grade-appropriate classroom economy blueprint that establishes structural logistics (jobs, banking, marketplace) while proactively incorporating equity policies to support student financial hardship.
  • Build Technical Infrastructure:  Construct a fully functional, live digital classroom economy dashboard, successfully configuring user rosters, customized labor markets, and store reward matrices within a selected software platform.
  • Synthesize and Communicate Instruction:  Produce a clear, engaging digital media presentation using Google Vids that effectively translates the mechanics and educational value of a classroom economy to a target audience of students or families.
