About the Course

Teachers will actively engage in online learning to further develop their understanding of classroom management. Specific applications will be made to practice, as teachers will reflect on their use of classroom management learnings and then create a ten-day plan to implement their own personal plan for classroom management. 

This course is appropriate to participants of all grades from Pre-Kindergarten through adult education.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Critically analyze the research-based principles of effective classroom management presented in The Classroom Management Book, distinguishing between classroom management and discipline, and evaluating how teacher practices influence student achievement and classroom climate.
  • Design and justify a comprehensive classroom management plan that includes procedures, routines, expectations, and organizational systems aligned with evidence-based practices from the text and current educational research.
  • Examine the connection between instructional planning, teacher clarity, classroom organization, and student outcomes, applying these principles to diverse educational contexts and student populations.
  • Develop a professional action plan that integrates proactive management strategies, collegial collaboration, and leadership practices to improve classroom and school-wide learning environments.
