Cheryl Mosier

Cheryl Mosier, a Colorado native, has been teaching Earth Science at Columbine High School since 1997. Cheryl believes that Earth Science is a highly crucial course for a sustainable future and that every student should have opportunities to learn at their own pace, place and time.  This commitment to Earth Science has led her to teach 9th graders for nearly 30 years, helping them transition to high school, with almost 25 years at Columbine High School.

Cheryl is the 2007 recipient of the Presidential Award of Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching for Colorado. She has served on numerous Colorado Department of Education committees focused on standards, assessment (formative, interim and summative) and CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success) development, including all aspects of item production. Colorado Education Association and National Education Association work has been filled with advocacy, mentoring, standards, assessment and focusing on student success.

Cheryl has a BA in Earth Science Education and Physical Science Education from the University of Northern Colorado and an MA in Teaching from Grand Canyon University.
