About the Course
In this course, teachers will explore how math games and puzzles can bring the fun back into learning (and teaching) mathematics! Through discussions, reflections and playing, participants will discover how incorporating math games and puzzles can help engage students in math in a non-intimidating way. Participants will also connect math games and puzzles to the Standards for Mathematical Practices (SMP). This course is appropriate for all K-12 math teachers.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Analyze math game and puzzle resources.
- Implement math games and puzzles in their classroom.
- Connect math games and puzzles to the Standards for Mathematical Practices (SMP).

It is not new news that children learn well when engaged in play and this course was perfect helping teachers find ways to engage students in mathematical concepts through playing games. This course provided a nice variety of no to little to some materials needed to play the games to online options while helping teachers tie them to the standards for mathematical practices.
