The Anxious Generation: Insights for Educators
About the Course
In "The Anxious Generation" social psychologist Jonathan Haidt explores the mental health challenges affecting today’s children because of the decline of play-based childhoods since the 1980s—replaced by a phone-based culture in the 2010s. This course invites educators to examine the research surrounding rising levels of anxiety and depression in students, focusing on the cultural and developmental factors at play. Through collaborative discussions and practical applications, educators will develop a comprehensive action plan to support their students, with the added benefit of enhancing their own well-being, based on insights from the book.
