Using Yoga in the Classroom
About the Course
Students will explore ways to bring yoga into the classroom to help students learn to combine breath and movement in a school setting. Yoga provides a great opportunity to provide brain breaks that are movement based while also incorporating balance, breath, coordination and self awareness.

- Classroom Yoga Breaks: Brief Exercises to Create Calm by Louise Goldberg
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Name 5 categories of poses and the benefits of each category.
- Determine when it is appropriate to use each category of poses within the classroom for intentional effect on classroom energy- to up regulate or down regulate.
- Teach 20 different yoga breaks that build a foundation of self resilience, focus and concentrations and improved health outcomes.
